The Europeans are willing to do a lot of concessions as long as Indonesia isn't reviving the IPTN CN-250 program. As the revival of the CN-250 program could harm EADS own ATR series turboprop. But more seriously the CN-250 could also open te way for the IPTN to continue with its hundred seater program the IAe 2130 which could be a direct competitor to the Airbus A318/A319 series.
It is the challenge for both Indonesian Aerospace to secure finance for the CN-250 program. And convince Indonesian airlines to order the CN-250.
CASA C-295
The EADS CASA C-295 could have been jointly produced and developed by both IPTN, now PT. DI and CASA (as was the case with the CN-235 under the Airtech cooperiation) which would have been much more cost effective. But in Europe it is seen as political correct to keep production in Europe. But the Europeans came to the conclusion that it is inevitable to cooperate with Indonesian Aerospace.
